Whilst excuse pre-loading will have much to do with the actor’s profound insecurity about his own ability to do what is expected of him, the extenuating circumstances will never include his own rank incompetence.
 
The football player who shows up with a slight hamstring strain; the worker who seems locked in a daily battle with her childcare or the same train timetable that others manage without fuss, is an excuse pre-loader.
