The management consultancy dogma which sees and lovingly embraces a dystopian future in which the machines take over, and is hell bent on getting them to take over now.

The good news, long term, is that the idea is profoundly flawed and that machines are not going to take over. The bad news, short term, is that this will not become apparent for a long time yet, in the mean time large organisations are run by people like John Cryan[1], and many good people will be disenfranchised and driven up the wall in the meantime.
