You do not inspire people by showing them how amazing you are, but by showing them how amazing they are. Well, you would inspire them by showing them how amazing you were, if you were amazing, but — let’s face facts here — statistically speaking, almost certainly, you’re not, so rather than aggravating them with your mediocrity, it’s better to make them think they’re amazing instead.
Now, it is highly likely they won’t be any more amazing than you are — they’re reading your crappy LinkedIn post, after all, so that should give you some sense of it — but a feature of this kind of guileless mediocrity is gullibility and wilful self-delusion, so they’ll probably believe you.
