retrocession
/ˈrɛtrəʊˈsɛʃən/ (n.)

(Euphemism) A kickback. A fee or commissionrebate”; a fashionable way of giving backhanders.

Depending on your political disposition “part of the normal operation of a well-functioning market” or “institutionalised corruption and yet one more way that Wall Street parasites feed off the blood, sweat and tears of the common working stooge”. More frown’d upon than frowning in Europe, more or less BAU in the U.S., but we wonder whether the great market un-crash of 2021 might change that attitude. As they often seem to, those fusty old Europeans seem to have called it right again.
