Known for reasons of brevity in the scripts as simply “Queen”, Gräfin Schümli Pflümli is a common protagonist in the comedy operettas of Otto Büchstein.

Most famous for her lachrymal final aria in the tragedy Die Schweizer Heulsuse, Der Teufel mag im Detail stecken, aber Gott steckt in den Lücken (“The Devil may be in the detail, but God is in the gaps”) and her ongoing frustration with the hapless legal counsel, Triago.
