/ˈwɪðɚ/ (adv. or conj.)

(Archaic, but fun and underused): To what place. To where. A nifty means of avoiding that noisome preposition “to”. The inverse of “whence”.

See also the famous graffiti, “whither atrophy?” which we quite like — it sort of sums up the the lot of the English football fan — without really being able to articulate why.
