Oleg Paripasu was a pioneering trade and exchange merchant, of royal Romanian blood, who was captured as a child by a marauding hoard of Norse invaders and brought up in the Arctic wastes, where he grew to be a great warrior himself. Rumoured — never proven — to be, or at least be linked with, Nosferatu, the Dark Lord of the Swaps. He, with his ginger Norse kinsman Reg Margin was one of the two First Men who rediscovered for modern financial services the long-lost Secret of the Swap — for an age believed sacred fruity knowledge lost to the trading peoples forever — in the remains left behind by the Children of the Forest.
