Triumph by Wu Tang Clan
(Enjoy the lyrics, at your own risk, here)

It is a bravado performance no doubt but fundamentally incoherent. Judging by the context, “Novation” seems to be not the tripartite mutually agreed transfer of rights and liabilities with we scholarly legal folk love, but a brand of synthesiser — which the Google reveals to be manufactured by Novation Digital Music Systems Limited.

But that leads to its own question. Why did they name their synthesiser company after a technical legal arrangement between three parties to transfer rights and obligations under a contract?

Did it just sort of sound space aged?
