Hooker

One who hooks; a player who, on a rugby paddock, stands between the loose-head and tight-head props and, following put-in, rakes the ball back to his half-back during a scrum. Usually belligerent and with the size, shape and density of a wild boar.
When his playing days are over, a hooker may often be persuaded, for suitable payment, to fraternise with members of the financial services community, such as hedge fund managers. This goes some way to explaining why people on the left find so contemptuous about the financial services industry.
