Of a civil law contract, having the legal qualities of a common law contract; namely, legally binding mutual obligations in which each party to the contract is bound to provide something to the other party. [1] Seemingly a bit uncalled-for, but expect to see this kind of chatter in a continental netting opinion, which is of course basically a working definition of “uncalled for”.
