In the pages of the Jolly Contrarian’s Law Reports there is no more popular apocryphal judge than Lord Justice Cocklecarrot M.R. though, being his nemesis, our leading silk, the elderly, flatulent Sir Jerrold Baxter-Morley, K.C. might feel differently about that. Cocklecarrot L.J. began his legal career in the Beachcomber column in the Daily Express, and comes to us via many years of casual work at the offices of Private Eye, where he still makes the odd appearance.
