Mudblood /mʌd blʌd/ (n.)
(Derogatory) A compliance officer, paralegal or an ISDA negotiator. One with some legal training but no practising certificate.

To the chagrin of those who do hold practising certificates, Mudbloods are quite capable of surprising you with deep legal insight — often into things you’ve overlooked — and more importantly, with decades of experience in the markets, have seen everything, are fazed by nothing and possessed of a deeply burnished pragmatism which boy wizards will — or at any rate should — deeply envy.
