He sighed, tucked his chin into his collar and began to stomp through the forming puddles.

A squall of black brollies exploded on their first contact with the rain, like disturbed pigeons. [[Edd Sweeney]] didn’t have a brolly, or an overcoat, and he was, as usual, late. He sighed, tucked his chin into his collar and began to stomp through the forming puddles, not noticing the enormous bird eyeing him beadily from a broken, damp battlement atop a  tenement across the road, or the workmen affixing a new sign to the tired bricks below it: EAGLE DWELLINGS.
