It is a bravado performance no doubt but fundamentally incoherent. Judging by the context, “Novation” seems to be not a tripartite mutually agreed transfer or rights and liabilities, but a brand of synthesiser - which google reveals to be Novation Digital Music Systems Limited, but that lends its own question. Why did they name their synthesiser company after a technical legal arrangement between three parties to transfer rights and obligations under a contract? Did it just sort of sound space aged?
