Like Goldberg, Robinson designed imaginary contraptions to do simple things in comically elaborate ways, and in that regard can be seen as an intellectual forebear to those who took control of Worshipful Company of Swap Dealers in the early 1980s, and installed their elite praetorian guard, ISDA’s crack drafting squad™ to codify the legal terms to be used in world’s derivatives markets.
