The sure sign someone else is bored out of his gourd and has tuned out of the conference call. A wonder it doesn’t happen more often than it does. Which is often. Let’s take that off line.
In the meantime, hearing someone-else’s keyboard clatter is like going crazy Ivan and discovering a tailing enemy sub in your baffle. All you have to do is see whose mic other than the speaker’s, is transmitting. Then you have him. He’s defenceless. A sitting duck. And at your leisure can either (a) mute him (if you’re a nice guy) or, better still, cue up a devastating conference call ambush.
But watch out for the guy who has anticipated your move here. Keyboard clatter can sometimes be a double-bluff.
