A legal eagle, though, and however lovable real beagles may be, a legal beagle is a curiously pejorative term, suggestive of the kind of obsessive-compulsive who can’t see the wood for the trees and just can’t let a manky, yes unsightly, but fundamentally irrelevant and economically immaterial point, that everyone else wishes she would just let go, go.
