Alternative dispute resolution
Not to be confused with American depositary receipts
Litigation for milksops and sookies. Alternative dispute resolution, or “ADR” — less grandly known as mediation and arbitration to its browbeaten practitioners — is voguish among snowflake millennial types — so expect to see all kinds of higher level law courses and post graduate dissertations about it, but — unless you are an employment lawyer or you do business in Russia or with commodities or construction contracts, don’t expect to have much to do with it once you hit the city.
