Your local high-street oppressor of the masses. It accepts your deposits, lends you small amounts at usurious rates, once upon a time offered you a cheque account, may hold a mortgage over your house, but doesn't really handle commercial banking (syndicated revolving credit facilities and that kind of thing), so consents itself with doing down the great unwashed and the already downtrodden.
