A rational human being. One whose light reading is The Wealth of Nations, who would never think of exercising an out-of-the-money option and who the globe’s annual expenditure on fashion and football proves plainly does not exist. Closely related (in probability of existence) to the reasonable man, and (in tendency to suggest the collective madness of people who should really know better) the hypothetical broker dealer.
