Assets under management, or voguily, “AUM” is the value of investments in an investment manager’s portfolio. Thus, a “mine’s bigger than yours” opportunity for the buy-side crowd. Like punk rockers, there is a certain type who professes to prefer a small, intimate AUM, but this is a lie.
