This is an in joke. There is only one person who is in on the injoke, or will ever care about it, and that’s me. And it’s not even very funny. But AE-35 was the mafunctioning — or was it? — aerial unit aboard the Discovery in 2001: A Space Odyssey, that HAL used as an excuse to get Frank Poole out of the ship so it could, literally, bump him off.

AET is ISDA ninja short-hand for Automatic Early Termination, a provision you use if you fear your robotic like german insolvency practitioners are going to throw your netting clause into deep space.

Look, it wasn’t funny in the first place, and explaining it really doesn’t help, does it?
