Frippery /ˈfrɪp(ə)ri/ (n.)

1. Showy or unnecessary ornament in architecture, dress, or musical structure.
A strictly badass one-chord stomping boogie with not a hint of frippery

Origin: late 20th century (denoting tiresome over-intellectualised guitar playing): after Robert Fripp, of King Crimson and later Berlin-era Bowie records.
