Conviction, imprisonment, suicide and bankruptcy of hundreds of perfectly innocent and quite nice people.	Loss of public honours (CBE). No firings yet: many candidates for defenestration jumped before they could be fired.	Excoriating public humiliation in front of public enquiry. Increasingly likely some criminal prosecutions may follow.
