For a historic centre of world banking, the Swiss have odd laws concerning the insolvency of local banks which present those who seek to achieve close out netting with some heartburn. Here is the alka-seltzer, such as it is.

Not in the EU. Or the EEA. But in EFTA. Since it has a number of bilateral agreements with the EU, sometimes the Texts with EEA relevance apply to it, too. Concerning aviation, for example: Switzerland has adopted most of the EU’s aviation laws through an Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on Air Transport of 1999.
