The actual deal, be it the purchase or sale of a financial instrument; a swap, stock loan, ETD. While a transaction could be a house purchase, or an M&A deal, we know nothing and care little about those[1], so on this wiki we are largely concerned here with global markets transactions, ie cash trades in securities and FX[2] and those executed under a master trading agreement, and confirmed by a confirmation.
