Amanuensis
/əˌmænjʊˈɛnsɪs/ (n.)
A literary or artistic assistant, in particular one who takes dictation or copies manuscripts.

From early 17th century: Latin, from (servus) a manu — “handmaiden, secretary” + -ensis — “belonging to”.
