Boredom heat-death

A plausible ultimate fate for commerce and industry is to be entirely consumed by flannel. In this state all commercial activity has been vanquished by disclaimers, boilerplate, and flannel such that there is a state of zero free thermodynamic energy. Commerce is no longer sustainable and collapses into a state of complete ennui.
