Raptors were Special purposes vehicles conceived from the brow of Andrew Fastow’s superbrain, that Enron established to shield itself from mark-to-market losses in its growing equity investment business.

They give the harmless espievie a bad name and structured finance lawyers are still pretty angry about them. nearly twenty years later.
