A generic description of vaguely pejorative tone to describe those people in the business sales, trading and structurers who, in an attorney’s bitter mind, don’t sufficiently care about the details in the sacred contract — the “verbiage”, as they would call it — but still take their handsome rewards off the sweated back of your underappreciated labour. Their reward is far more handsome than yours, you suspect. Your own compensation looks rather careworn, bulbous and gimlet-eyed by comparison.
Mind you, we really shouldn’t complain. There’s something worse than casual disdain for legal contracts, and that is compulsive obsession with them. This you often find in a structurer.
