Transfer Amount” means a Delivery Amount (VM) or Return Amount (VM) as the case may be.

Well it is not canonical ISDA, so we use the same expression in each of the CSA editions. But to be clear, this is a JC neologism.

A term the JC made up to substitute for “the Delivery Amount and/or Return Amount, with or without (VM) or (IM), as the case may for the time being be”.

Don’t thank the JC: thank ISDA’s crack drafting squad™ for giving the JC the opportunity to come up with such a wonderful affordance, to make the world a better place. As with so much on this wiki, it would not have been possible without those wily old torturers on hand to crucify the innocent, peace-loving and ordinarily elegant English language, allowing old Don Quixote here to come tilting in to on his charger to sort these old windbags[1] out.
